About Brian Lew

Brian Lew grew up in the San Francisco Bay Area and has a very long history and friendship with Metallica. He first met the band when they only had a cassette demo tape and is considered a historian of the Cliff era. Brian is also the co-author of the quintessential book about the early 1980s Bay Area Heavy Metal scene "Murder In The Front Row: Shots From the Bay Area Thrash Metal Epicenter" which was also made into a documentary film of the same name.
